Why we do what we do
Jesus was once asked which of the commandments was the most important.
“The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘...Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:29-31 (NIV)
Paul also echoed this teaching when he wrote, "For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Galatians 5:14 (NIV)

What We Do
LoveMonkey connects widows and single parents to Christians in their own communities who can help them with those "neighborly" tasks. LoveMonkey volunteers can help those in need with things like lawn care, basic household maintenance, simple housekeeping, grocery shopping, reading to or tutoring children, etc. These services are provided without any labor cost to you. The services are done by volunteers who believe Jesus meant what He said when He told His followers to "love your neighbor as yourself."
How does it work?
LoveMonkey partners with area Christian churches in your own community who enjoy volunteering to help their neighbors. If you are (or know of) a widow or single parent in need of basic services, you can contact LoveMonkey to find assistance. LoveMonkey will determine if we have the ability and the volunteers in your area to meet the need. If there are volunteers that can help, we will make arrangements to help with your request. That's it. No tricks, no gimmicks.
Love God. Love your neighbor.
That's the "Monkey on the back" of every believer.
It is a challenge and a command from Jesus himself. Not a burden to carry, but an act of worship.
Connecting Widows & Single Parents with Neighbors who want to help. That's LoveMonkey.
LoveMonkey is now active in multiple Dayton area communities!
We look forward to adding more communities in the Dayton area very soon.

Why the Widow and the Single Parent?
God loves each and every one of us, but He has a special concern for families where a parent (or parents), or a spouse is no longer around to help provide for the needs of the family. These people were typically identified in scripture as widows and orphans. Many times throughout the Bible, He gives special instructions for His people to take care of them.
Times have changed, but His love for these incomplete families has not. How do we apply this to today's American culture? Today the US has 13.6 million widows, 85% of which are women. Additionally, while not truly orphans, many children only have one parent due to death, divorce, absenteeism, or other factors. Today, the US has 13.7 million single parents who are raising 22 million children. God designed men and women uniquely, and when a father, mother, husband or wife is not there, families often suffer in many ways. God's command to take care of the widow and orphan is fulfilled when we do our part to help fill in those gaps.
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress...James 1:27 (NIV)
